Funds are now available for the upcoming Program Year (2014-2015). Funding sources include:
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) - HUD funds used to help revitalize local communities by providing decent housing, suitable living environments, and expanded economic opportunities, principally for low and moderate income persons. Non-for-profits providing services in Providence are eligible to apply for support of public services, improvements, and economic development activities. CDBG Housing funds are solicited in a separate process in conjuncture with the Building Homes Rhode Island Bond.
Housing Opportunities for Persons with Aids (HOPWA) - HUD funds used to address the specific needs of persons living with HIV/AIDS and their families, particularly in the area of housing and supportive services. Each year, the city receives funding to support these services in the Providence metropolitan area, including Fall River and Bristol County.
