Overview

The Providence Public Building Authority (PBA), created by state law (RIGL 45-50), provides financing and construction services for municipal facilities and projects. The PBA can either construct new buildings or renovate existing structures. It then in turn will lease these facilities to the City. The various projects are funded through the issuance of revenue bonds that are secured by the leases with the City. The PBA may only develop projects upon a request from the Mayor and with approval of the City Council.
