We want to make applying for a housing loan as easy as possible for you.  Following the instructions below should ensure a smooth application process. 

Step 1:  Review Loan Eligibility Requirements
This website provides detailed information on basic eligibility for each of the loan programs we offer.  Before you make a pre-application appointment or fill out the application form, please check to see that you meet the basic requirements (income limits, etc.) for the specific loan you in which you are interested

Step 2:  Review the Housing Loan Application
If you believe that you meet the basic eligibility requirements, the next step is to review the Housing Loan Application to understand the type of information that will be required if you choose to apply.  In addition to completing the general Housing Loan Application, you will also need to complete and submit a documentation package.

Documentation Package A is required for the following loan applications:

  • Home Repair
  • Senior Home Repair
  • Emergency Repair
  • Lead Hazard Reduction
  • Foreclosure Rehabilitation

Documentation Package B is required for the following loan applications:

  • Down Payment/Closing Cost Assistance
  • American Dream
  • Employee Advantage

Step 3:  Complete and Submit the Application
Schedule an application appointment with our Housing Loan Specialist by calling 401-351-4300 ext. 405 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  Bring the following items to your appointment:

  • Completed and signed application form, including applicable documentation package
  • Copies of all documentation required
  • Photo identification

If you have any questions as you are completing the form, you may leave those sections blank and complete them during the application appointment.

Step 4:  Loan Application Review
Once your completed loan application has been submitted, it will be reviewed by DPD staff to determine whether it meets all of the criteria for loan approval.  You will be notified as to whether your loan has been approved or denied.
